We've been filming and travelling pretty hard for the last 6 months, and we're stoked to be heading off this week on our long awaited trip to Japan. The amount of new whitewater and posiblities that will be exposed in this film is overwhelming. Cody Howard just returned from a week of filming in California. Some of the epic, blue bird sky, huge waterfall footage is simply stunning.

So filming will commence in Japan for the next month. The crew isn't sure about the Internet access over there, so updates might be in the mix (?). There is bound to be some sweet falls, and BIG adventure out in Japan...so stay tuned. Heres a little taste...after linking up with some Kiwis, the first stop will be a [hopeful] sick little first descent.

Japan. Get some.

Team Huckin Huge has finally returned from our expedition in Japan. The country far exceeded all of our expectations. Every single drainage had multiple boating options...and not just for the Class V boater. Although the country is extremely developed (Japan loves their concrete), we where able to get on some remote Class V+ canyons and creeks. The nature of the land is bedrock, teacuping falls, with sheer jungle / B.C. walls. Check out the teaser picture of one of the creeks we stumbled upon, with more pics on Kayak Session here. All footage can be seen in the spring '09 release, THE RISEN SUN.

So where were we? Oh, ya...last we left off was the Team had just returned from Japan. If you haven't seen that update yet, scroll down and catch up! Cody Howard and Mike Fisher just returned and three days later, still suffering from jet-lag, they hopped in the truck and raced out west. The report on the drive was that Cherry Lake was almost on fire and that the creek was running. Timing it right is everything now-a-days on Upper Cherry, since the crowd factor can get high. By shear luck, a crew of four was formed, along with friends' group from SacTown. The crew enjoyed a 2 day trip down the empty moonscape paradise. Barely slowing down enough to take any video or pictures, the team fired up every drop in there and came out smiling as expected. The YGP locals shot over some solid beta and the next epic was set in motion. Stay tuned....
